Hello JassOdyssey fans, this is going to be a great summer for us; we have a lot of things planned for you.
Last week we started off with a bang by participating in “The Day of the Book Festival” which was held in Kensington, Maryland. We had a marvelous time. Got a chance to introduce Never Die to the audience, we even talked about the many adventures featured in the book. Lot’s of fun with the crowd exchanging facts about jazz, and we even sold a few books. One lady bought all three books in the series. During the month of May, we’ll be participating in The Prince Georges Spring Book Festival. Come on out to see us.
If you get a chance this Wednesday, listen to WEAA radio station as Mykel Hunter and Robert Shahid interview Author J.A. Rollins during their Baltimore Blend radio show. He will be discussing the JassOdyssey series. He’ll also be bringing with him some copies of his book series. If you call in, you might get a chance to win one of the books. Later on this summer, he will also be interviewed by Ellen Carter of WPFW during her Morning Brew radio show. Another chance to win a free book from the JassOdyssey series.
In June, we’ll be one of the vendors featured under the tent at the D.C. Jazz Fest that’s being held at the Yard. The lineup includes Pat Metheny, Robert Glasper, Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, Kenny Garrett and many more. I couldn’t miss this opportunity to plug the book series. In book three, two characters by the name of Kenny and Garrett discover something horrible as they were performing their duty at work. Could it be the work of one of the main characters in the book? You’ll have to read to find out.
Also, though the JassOdyssey book series is featured in large bookstores such as Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, we’re making deals with some independent bookstores in the area. We’ll keep you posted.
Other events we’re working on include: the Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival, AFRAM in Baltimore, the Baltimore Book Festival, the Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival, and more. So keep us in mind this summer as you think of JAZZ!
